The Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications has advised Indian nationals to refrain from purchasing Starlink internet services in India. Starlink Internet Services is not licensed to advertise satellite-based Internet services in India, an official statement said.


Elon Musk, a famous businessman, recently set up an organization called Starlink to provide satellite internet services in India. And Starlink has started a subscription / pre-booking process. Pre-orders are available in some of India’s most important cities on a ‘first-come-first-served basis’.


Last Friday, the Department of Telecommunications and the Ministry of Communications issued a directive stating that Starlink Internet service Provider Company is not licensed to advertise their services to the public. And the official statement said the company should comply with the Indian regulatory framework for providing satellite-based communications services.


DOT has been announced to the public that the company has not received any approval for the provision of satellite-based internet services booked on their website. Starlink Internet Service Provider Company is not licensed. In this context, the public is advised to refrain from subscribing to Starlink services. “
